In winter, Tahoma is surrounded by the largest concentration of ski resorts in the United States. Alpine ski or snowboard at nearby ski resorts such as Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows Ski Resort and Homewood Mountain Resort. Nordic skiers have access to machine-groomed tracks at several cross-country centers. Other winter activities, such as snowshoeing, off-track skiing, sledding, ice-skating and sleigh rides are also available.
